Each level of the CogAT Cognitive Abilities Test measures a student's learned reasoning and problem solving abilities in three areas linked to academic success in school: Verbal, Quantitative and Nonverbal (spatial) symbols. The CogAT assessment test is often used as a GATE exam to help educators select students for Gifted and Talented programs and Advanced Placement programs.
